Running a successful ad campaign is about combining the right message with eye-catching visuals and reaching the right audience. Whether you are promoting a new single, album, or your latest video clip, ReverbNation's "Promote It" tool makes it easy to get your music in front of potential fans.
Here is exactly how to build, review, and launch your campaign from start to finish.
Step 1: Getting Started
First, log in to your ReverbNation artist dashboard.
- Navigate to Home > Promote It.
- Click the + New Campaign button to begin.
Step 2: The Draft Tab (Campaign Details)
This is where you will write the copy for your ad. Your goal here is to grab attention and drive action. Fill in the following details:
- Headline: The main, boldest text. Make a strong, immediate impact to stop the user from scrolling. (Example: "New Single Out Now!")
- Tagline: The subheadline that provides context or a secondary hook to convince the viewer to engage. (Example: "Stream the highly anticipated follow-up to last year's hit album.")
- Button Text (CTA): The text displayed directly on your clickable button. Tell the fan exactly what to do next. (Example: "Listen on Spotify" or "Watch on YouTube")
- Target Link: The hidden destination URL. Make sure this links directly to the specific song, digital store artist page, or profile you are promoting, rather than a generic homepage.
Step 3: The Draft Tab (Creatives & Budget)
Once your text is locked in, you need a great image and a campaign strategy.
Uploading Your Creative Base Image:
- Best Practices: The best-performing campaigns feature a picture of the artist or band members. Potential fans like to see the faces behind the music, making close-up images highly effective. Ensure your image is colorful, clear, crisp, and high contrast.
- Specs: Drag and drop or click to upload a PNG, JPG, or GIF file. It must be at least 300x250 px and no more than 5 MB.
- Content Rules: Be mindful of ReverbNation's guidelines. Images containing adult content, illegal activity, or obscene gestures may result in your campaign being rejected.
Setting Your Budget & Duration:
- Duration: Your campaign will run for a minimum of 7 days and continue for the following weeks unless you manually cancel it.
- Budget: Set a daily budget that works for you. The minimum is $3 per day, and the maximum is $25 per day.
Next Step: Once your details, creatives, and budget are set, look to the bottom far right of your screen and click "Continue to review".
Step 4: The Review Tab
This is your chance to double-check everything before finalizing your campaign.
- Review your Headline, Tagline, Image, and Budget to ensure there are no typos and that the image looks great.
- If everything looks correct, click "Subscribe and submit" to move to the final step.
Step 5: Checkout & Launch
You are almost done!
- Enter your payment method information in the secure checkout tab.
- Click "Subscribe now".
What happens next?
Your campaign doesn't go live the second you hit subscribe. It first enters a manual review stage to ensure it meets all platform guidelines. In the following 5 business days, you will receive a notification letting you know that your campaign is officially live, or alerting you if your ad needs any tweaks before it can run.
