Please Note: Site Builder is exclusively available on ReverbNation Legacy. To access and manage your website, you will need to switch back to your Legacy dashboard.
Site Builder is included in our Premium plan for $19.95/month. This plan provides you with a domain credit to register a completely new domain through ReverbNation, or allows you to use an existing domain you already own.
Use the sections below to learn how to customize your site, manage your content, and set up your custom email addresses.
1. Basics & Customization
Changing Your Template
To change the template for your site, hover over the settings tab near the top of your screen, and then click “Template”. You can choose between three different templates: Fixed, Parallax, and Float. After clicking your desired template, your site will automatically update.
Changing Your Background Image
Go to Tools > Site Builder. Select "Picture Options" to the right of your background image. In the drop-down menu, select "Change Image". You can upload a new image from your computer, choose from your ReverbNation gallery, or use our preselected image library. Select Save and Publish in the bottom right corner to reflect your new background image.
Can my artist name be different on my site?
No, the artist name on your ReverbNation profile is tied directly to your site and will always be the name that appears.
Tracking Analytics
To record your site's analytics, you must first sign up for Google Analytics to obtain a UA code (Google Analytics ID). Once you have this ID, go to Tools > Site Builder > Settings > Analytics, enter your ID, and you can view and track your analytics moving forward.
2. Managing Your Content
Syncing and Re-uploading Content
You do not need to re-upload songs, videos, or pictures! Site Builder automatically pulls this information from your ReverbNation profile.
If you recently added content to your profile but it isn't appearing on your site, it may just need a moment to sync. Go to Tools > Site Builder and click Save and Publish to force an update. (If the button doesn't appear, make a slight temporary change to your background image to trigger the save prompt).
Empty Sections
Fields will not appear on your website until they are filled in. For example, if you don’t have any songs uploaded to your profile, the music field on your site will stay hidden.
RPK Only Songs
Songs set to "RPK only" will not appear on your site. Songs must be set to publicly stream to show up on your Site Builder page.
Selling Your Music
Your songs will automatically appear with a buy option on your site if you have set a price for them. To set a price, go to your content tab, click “Songs”, then click “Sell Your Music”.
3. Domains & Security
Using a Domain You Already Own
You can definitely use an existing domain! You will just need to adjust your DNS settings with your domain's registrar using the following information:
- A-Record: 52.53.97.233
- CNAME: WWW websites.reverbnation.com
Once complete, claim your domain in ReverbNation by going to Tools > Site Builder > Settings > Domains and searching for your domain. Note that it can take up to 72 hours for your domain to start pointing to your website. If you are unsure who your registrar is, create a support ticket and we will gladly help!
Why does my site come up as "Not Secure"? (HTTP vs. HTTPS)
Your site may be marked as "not secure" because Site Builder domains currently operate as HTTP rather than HTTPS (which includes SSL encryption).
While general browsing happens on HTTP, ReverbNation ensures that all sensitive transactions are completely secure. When a user initiates a transaction (like buying a song), they are automatically redirected to a secure HTTPS checkout page hosted by ReverbNation. This ensures payment details and sensitive information are protected by robust encryption.
4. Setting Up Custom Email Addresses
Premium Site Builder customers can create up to 5 custom email addresses using a domain registered through ReverbNation. Create your email address and password by going to Tools > Site Builder > Settings > Email.
General Email Client Settings
You can use any third-party email client (Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird) to manage your inbox using these standard settings:
- Incoming Server: mail.gandi.net
- POP Port: 110 (or 995 for SSL)
- IMAP Port: 143 (or 993 for SSL)
- Outgoing (SMTP) Server: mail.gandi.net
- SMTP Port: 25, 465 (SSL), or 587 (STARTTLS)
- Username: Your full email address (youremail@yourdomain.com)
- Password: The password you created in ReverbNation
Note: We recommend POP/POP3 over IMAP so your emails download locally and don't fill up your server storage space.
How to Setup Your Email on Gmail
We highly encourage using Gmail to manage your Site Builder email addresses. Once you create your email in ReverbNation, follow these steps:
- Log into the standard Gmail account you will use to manage this custom address.
- Click the gear icon (Settings) in the upper right, and go to Accounts and Import > Check mail from other accounts > Add a mail account.
- Enter your custom email address and select Next.
- Enter your Username (full email), Password, set the POP Server to mail.gandi.net, and set the Port to 110.
- Click Add Account, then select "Yes, I want to be able to send mail as..."
- Choose "Treat as an alias" and click Next.
- Enter your outgoing settings: SMTP Server is mail.gandi.net, Port is 465, alongside your Username and Password. Check "Secured connection using SSL".
- Click Add Account.
- You will receive a verification email in your inbox. Click the link provided or paste the code to finish your setup!
You can now send emails from your custom address by using the drop-down menu in the "From" area of your Gmail "New Message" window.
