The Complete Guide to Submitting a ReverbNation "Digital Distribution" Release

First, log in to your ReverbNation artist dashboard.

• Navigate to Digital Distribution.
• Click on the My Releases tab.
• Click the + New Release button to begin.

This is where you tell us the basics about your new release. Fill in the following details:

• Artist Profiles (Optional): If you have previously released music, provide the URLs to your existing Spotify and Apple Music Artist profiles. This ensures your new release appears on the correct pages.
• Release Title: Keep it clean and accurate. Avoid including featured/primary artists or contributors in this field. Do not use special characters or emojis.
• Genre: Select the primary genre that best fits your music from the dropdown list.

• Optional Settings: Add your UPC, Record Label, and Catalog Number if applicable.

Drag and drop your audio files or click to select them from your library. 

Once uploaded, complete your track details:

• Song Title: Singles will automatically inherit the text from the Release Title.
• Copyright Year: The year you wrote or created the song (cannot be blank).
• Language: Select the primary language of the vocal performance, or specify if the track is strictly Instrumental.
• Credits: You must include at least one Composer, Performer, and Producer/Engineer. You can also add additional contributors here.
• ISRC & Version (Optional): Enter your ISRC code without dashes (or leave it blank and ReverbNation will assign one for free). Use the "Version" field only if this is a special edit, like a Live performance or a Remix.
• Publisher: If you are releasing a cover song or performing a composition you didn't write, you must identify the publisher here.

Drag and drop or upload a JPG or PNG file. Follow these strict guidelines to ensure your cover art gets approved by streaming platforms:

• Specs: Must be a perfect square, high quality, and not blurry. Minimum size is 1400 x 1400 px, and maximum is 6000 x 6000 px. File size cannot exceed 10 MB.
• Text Limitations: Any text on the cover art must exactly match the release details you provided in Step 2. You are limited to the Release Name, Artist Name, Featured Artist Names, and Record Label.
• Content Rules: Do not include drugs, nudity, extreme violence, or websites/logos that you do not legally own the rights to. Every release must have its own unique artwork.

You are almost done! Review your Release Details, Songs, and Cover Art to ensure there are no typos and everything matches perfectly.

• Certify Rights: To finalize, you must check the box certifying that you own 100% of the compositions, sound recordings, artwork, images, trademarks, and publicity rights for the material you are submitting (or that you have all the required licenses for covers and samples).
